James McCrohan's Survey - response from Timothy McCrohan (East Coast U.S.A.)
The NameResponse from Timothy McCrohan to James McCrohan dated May 28, 1984.

Dear Jim,

I was very pleased to receive your letter in the beginning of April and am sorry for not responding sooner. Your project is very interesting to me and there are so many questions to ask that one doesn't know where to start. Also there is quite a bit of information to pass onto you that again it is puzzling to know where to start.  I am enclosing a draft of a "Family Tree" that a Father Clifford from Australia drew up about a year or so ago.  He came through the States in 1981 or 1982 and met with my cousin, Noreen, and myself.

From the research of James McCrohan, Dallas, Texas.

We gave him as much information as we could think of and for what he asked. He was heading for Ireland and probably picked up some more.  He did make a few mistakes on the chart which I have corrected as far as I know them.  He is related to my family through a great-grandmother who married twice and came out to the States in the 19th century.  I have been meaning to write to him also but keep putting it off.  Anyway I hope the chart will be understandable to you and help you in some of you research.  I welcome any questions you may have.  I'm the Tim McCrohan born 1932 in NYC on page 4.  So that may help you to place me in position with those you have already written.

Your suggestion of a possible meeting of members of the McCrohan clan is interesting and I would look forward to more details of it.  I realize it
would take a great deal of planning.  The McCrohan name is a rare one indeed.  But I am finding it more and more mentioned in news articles.  For instance, Donna McCrohan was involved in the TV series, "The Honeymooners" with Jackie Gleeson.  Also I came across an article a few years ago about a soccer coach from Miinnesota(?) named Kerwin(?) McCrohan.  In NYC I have only 2 cousins named McCrohan at present.  I do have second and maybe third cousins but have not kept in touch with them.  However, Noreen and Mary McCrohan are my first cousins and we do keep in touch.  They also have a brother, Pat, who lives in Brooklyn and he has a number of children but we have not been in touch for many years.

Hope this brief note will be of help to you and finds you and your family in good health.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Donna was not involved with the show "The Honeymooners" she writes books about TV shows.  And not to be snobbish, but hey, we're a rare bunch, she is actually the ex-wife of a "real" McCrohan (no children).  She kept her name because her maiden name is German sounding and she was working at a Jewish school.  Once she was published under McCrohan she had to stick with it I guess.
