Hi Geoffrey, good to hear from you.

I believe we have already heard from a member of your family tree - a John McCrohon who had a discussion with Karen McCrohon at the following link (note: go to the bottom of the linked page).

Karen has also recorded her family tree on McCrohan.Net, although I'm not sure if you two are related.

Do let us know how you get on.

Regards

Jerry

Hi Jeff

You're lucky that Karen has been doing extensive research into the McCrohon name and has connected her tree to the Dunn-McCrohon one. Check out the family tree online to see more.

All the best

Jerry

Calling all descendents of John & Dora McCrohon (Score: 1)

Hi

I am currently trying to compile book on the family history of all of the descendents of John McCrohon (born about 1809, in Cahersiveen, Kerry) and his wife Dorenda aka Dora O'Connell. John served in the British Auxiliary Legion as a Cadet then Colour Sergeant then Leieutenant in the Spanish Wars before joining the London Metropolitan Police Force in 1838. In September 1839 he transferred to the newly formed Birmingham Police force as Sergeant before transferring to Leominster Police in August 1841 as Superintendent, where he remained with his family until his death in 1862. John & Dora's children were:

- Johanna born 1835 in Ireland

- Alicia born 1837 in Vitoria, Spain whilst John was serving with the British Auxilliary Legion

- Eugene born 1839 in Ireland, who I think moved to the Concho valley area of Texas in 1867

- John born 1840 in Birmingham, England

- Charles born 1842 in Leominister, Herefordshire, England who married Emma Darricote Cartwright

- Daniel O'Connell McCrohon born in Leominster, Herefordshire, England who married Emma Dunn

- Mary Catherine McCrohon born 1847 in Leominster, Herefordshire, England who married Alfred Williams

- Geoffrey O'Connell McCrohon born 1849 in Leominster, Herefordshire, moved to the USA in 1863 and married Mary E. Campbell

- Belinda Agnes McCrohon born 1851 in Leominster, Herefordshire

Some of the tree so far can be found at:

I would love to hear from anyone who has any info. I will of course put a copy of the 'book' on this site when it is finished (not likely to be for a good while yet tho! lots of work to be done!.
